This is the main issue I see with this club..

"There will also be a requirement for all new members of the Northwest. The requirement will be that all new members will have to sign up on MP Racing before becoming a member of the northwest. They will also have to use the forums regularly.

I am not trying to make it harder for anyone; I just want to bring the club and its members closer together. Also by signing up on MP Racing and checking in regularly will benefit you because Mark does offer group buys from time to time so by using his forums, you can get in one some pretty sweet deals. Just like the old saying says "one hand washes the other" Thanks for reading this and I hope to see everyone on MP Racing shortly"

and

"Cool I would like for you to try to be an active member whenever possible. I know we can't always be around in person, but please register on www.mpracing.org be a local on the Malibu Cruisers section provided for us on the forums. Thanks."

There is not a single new post on the mpracing/cruisers forum in OVER THREE MONTHS.. and little to nothing on UnitedMalibu... This is no where near an active club... Is there something else that I dont know about??? Like I said before, Im more than willing to join something, as long as its not just, hey, look at me, I own a Malibu (which is all it looks like, and all it will look like if this trend continues)....

I am posting this on the forums as well as I want some feedback about it, as I do want to join an "ACTIVE" club!!!

hey sry i didnt see this. We are a club enthusiests and not just kids with cars. the reason why there isnt much activity is because I havent been able to get a meet together. I just recently had a baby and have been going thru alot of financial difficulties. I am trying to see when i can get vacation next year and see what kind of events are going on. Its kinda hard to get meets together when my closest member is about 8 hrs away. Im in OR and have members in WA and SoCal and 1 in Vegas. If there is anything else just let me know.

What Sandra has put in the rules for Malibu Cruisers Club are not followed to a T, but there are active members in these chapters, it seems to get harder when some of the members are lacking funds to get together even for a day. The activity has dropped of in the past year due to gasoline prices being so high and for some making either minimum wage or barely above it the extra costs for them is prohibitive to gather for a meet. Now that gasoline prices have dropped I'm hoping to encourage the members to make it to planned meets. It takes a bit to get others involved and unless others are willing to you can't force them. This rule Sandra made is held with exceptions. Each chapter president is responsible for starting up interest in meeting together for anything possible. One thing I can express is it's easier in the warmer months and away from holidays to get others together and one thing that helps bring out members is car shows around your area.

I love looking at the MP racing parts site.  There are real smart upgrades, parts, and a few accessories that improve our rides.  I am eager (when funds allow) to purchase upgrades that are simple enough for me to improve my ride.  I also look forward to a future meet whether it is here in Washington, Oregon, or as far south as N. California.  I believe if more members were to be found, encouraged in our NW area, we may have easier attempts for meets.  Most of the Malibus I see in my area are just to keep people mobile.  There are not too many kept in as good shape as I feel I accomplish.  But I appreciate the wealth of knowledge on this site and UMs site.  So many issues resolved, topics discussed, some that have saved me plenty of money.  Our Malibus may not have the desire and appeal as the sports cars and common modded cars, but i feel it is fun to see what Can be done with our cars.   Grin

See that's the thing, these cars are overlooked by most since there's not much support for them in the aftermarket in most people's eyes. It takes being in the right area at the right time and you'll probably run across others with Bu's that they have done some stuff to. but there is a growing number of parts available to us, through Mark here and a few other places, but not many.

Yes Sandra does have rules and I havent been really encouraging my members to follow them. But now that gas has gone down I am trying to get a meet together. As you have seen at UM. I know Reno is far for some, but next yr I am going to try and get a meet in WA and central Cali hopefully.

wow :/

Glow, can you email me at my yahoo email? I'd like to talk to you about the club.

I been seeing a lot of disappointment and I want to try and make things better. Even without my car, I gotta be around and keep myself active. Things need to be addressed for some and "rules" need to be enforced [and modified].

Some people don't understand a lot of things that come with being in 'this' particular car club. It's not like a Honda club where there are literally thousands in one county. We own Malibus, and we should be happy and grateful for all that we have dedicated to our Bu's

.....

Let me know what's bothering my people... what your "ISSUES" are. I will do my best to make you all happy.
