at the BCM, locate Connector C2 (center)

On the "B" side row of pins, locate the dark blue wire (b4)

Cut this wire, leaving as much as possible still attached to the BCM.

Now simply add on a piece of wire to the side that is still connected to the body control module. attach this wire to a good ground, like a screw in the metal part of the dashbehind the glove box

The BCM now see's this to mean that the regular headlights are on, and so it energizes the relay that turns off the DRL's.

ALC bypass
at connector C2 find A3 the yellow/black wire, and B2 light green/black wire.. be careful because there are two light green/black wires on that connector.. the one you want is closest to the yellow/black wire.

cut these wires again leaving as much wire as possible attached to the BCM.. simply tie the two wires together and tape them up real good. (this is the same thing as removing ambient light sensor and adding a jumper wire)

The BCM will now think that it is daylight all the time and it will not energize the relay to turn on the headlights.

To add to this!

 You can always wire in switches so you can return either of these to normal operation if you wish.

 For the DRL's I used a single pole double throw switch, the middle post was for the wire coming from the BCM and on one side I sent a wire from the switch to ground and the last post of the switch I wired up the other end of the wire that was cut from the BCM that leads to the car.

 For the ALC's I used a double pole double throw switch. With the yellow and green going to the middle posts one on it's own post, on one end of the switch I just used a loop of wire to connnect them to each other, and the other end each post got the cut wires that lead to the car.

 I installed both of these switches in the glove box so they'd be out of the way and still easy enough to flip.

Hey guys.  I was attempting the DRL override at this point, and I already ran into a hiccup.  I wired in the switch and such, all worked fine.  But when I throw the switch to disable the lights, all I get is quickly flashing lights.  If I flip the switch back, the "Service Engine Soon" light comes on and I have to turn the car off in order to remove it.

I attempted to bypass the switch and simply ground the dark blue wire, and that still lead to the flashing lights issue.  Any ideas?

What kind of switch did you use? Is it a double throw type, on-off-on? If so did you wire it as I wrote in my addition to the direcctions for this mod?

For the DRL I'm supposed to use the SPST right?  Wire the line that goes from the BCM to the switch, then one line goes to ground, the other goes back to the original wire.  When the switch is set to the original wire, the DRLs are on no problem.  When I throw the switch they blink rapidly.  Then Service Engine Soon turns on.

NO! You need a single pole double throw switch to make this mod work like I've done! It's the only way it will work. With a on-off-on switch, one side of on will be the wire going to the ground, and the other on will be the opposite end of the wire that you cut which leads to the cars lights, and the middle post will be the wire coming from the BCM!

I just did this mod. and lemme tell ya, almost perfect. but if you turn on the switch to activate DRL's, you cant turn them back off unless you put it in park first then switch them off. but awesome!
